On Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 07:48 hours, the LaGrange Fire District was dispatched to a reported house fire at 15 Walker Road. Firefighters arrived within five (5) minutes of the initial call and confirmed an active attached garage fire. A 10-75 alarm was immediately requested to bring in additional resources.

After initial size-up and confirmation of occupants being outside. Firefighters performed an aggressive interior attack, pushing a hose line into the breezeway between the house and garage. The swift and coordinated efforts of firefighters brought the fire under control by 08:03 hours. After knocking down the fire, the crew began checking for extension of fire into the numerous void spaces of the structure. All fire department resources returned to service at 10:42 hours.

The residents were evaluated on scene by EMS for smoke inhalation and were released. Unfortunately, the garage sustained significant fire damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The LaGrange Fire District extends its gratitude to the mutual aid departments who responded under the 10-75 Alarm assignment; Arlington Fire District, New Hackensack Fire Department, East Fishkill Fire Department, and the Pleasant Valley Fire Department.

We also want to thank the New York State Police, Central Hudson Gas and Electric, the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response Staff and Fire Investigation Division, for their assistance on scene.
