The LaGrange Fire District is looking for a Part Time Automotive and Equipment Mechanic. The work involves repairs a variety of motor equipment, gas pumps, water pumps, snow blowers, snowplows, and monitors repairs to the fleet which have been performed at off-site locations. The work involves transporting equipment to alternate stations or service locations as the need arises. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-level employee.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of paid work experience in skilled automotive repair, supplemented by one year of paid work experience in small engine equipment repair. Candidates must have had some welding experience in this three year period.

NOTE:  Courses in automotive mechanics and repair may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the skilled automotive repair experience. Thirty credit hours are equivalent to one year of experience.
